A philosophy of photography
I've always been attentive to my surroundings, visually and aurally. I don't need a camera or a sound recorder to appreciate the environment, but these tools help me to close in on a specific aspect, to share a focus and a frame that pleases or intrigues me. Shared photographs are so much a part of our lives now that I increasingly find "less is more," in terms of the number of images I post, or print, and the corollary of that I'll take more time composing one image than in shooting a series. The same for sound recording, or film-making. It's such a noisy world!
